When ordered by the Adjutant General, we provide an organized, trained, and disciplined rapid response volunteer force. We assist the state and local government agencies, as well as civil relief organizations in impending or actual emergency situations in order to ensure the welfare and safety of the citizens of Georgia.

The Georgia State Defense Force performs a variety of missions for the National Guard including family support, legal support, medical support and physicals. We also provide technical assistance consulting in a variety of areas including communications, Emergency Support Teams and in other specialized areas.

The Georgia State Defense Force performs several missions including evacuation and control during natural disasters, perimeter security and medical assistance at major public festivals. We maintain liaison with a variety of local emergency, law enforcement, and homeland security agencies. The Georgia State Defense Force performs a diverse spread of missions, from assisting in military data recording to manning emergency operations centers.
